MINI-PROFILE This short film directed by Maurice Healy is shot on location in Dublin with Con Houlihan, one of Ireland's most legendary journalists and commentators. As a writer with newspapers such as The Kerryman and The Evening Press, he has occupied a unique space in the pantheon of journalism and for the last twenty five years has contributed some of the most sparkling journalism the country has known. Although primarily a sports journalist, he has also contributed wonderful articles about theatre, films and the cultural life of the nation. This film gives a rare glimpse of Con, a shy man who does not court publicity. Renowned for his ability to mix the simple and the profound, he is generally regarded by fellow writers as a benchmark by which they can judge their own work.
