MINI-PROFILE
In a short piece by Donald Taylor Black, filmed around Boris Pasternak's
house and grave in Peredelkino, we look at the author's final years.
During his lifetime, Pasternak had to endure the ignominy of receiving
the Nobel Prize for literature and being forced by the Soviet State to
return it. He was, effectively, an exile in his own land for many years.
The film also includes rare home movie footage of Pasternak at his dacha
in happier days.
Five of his poems are read by the actor Gerard McSorley and the film is
narrated by Ingrid Craigie.
